CLT semi-detached house in Espoo
Built in a new small house area in Espoo's Harmaalakso, the two-story solid wood house with a basement has two spacious and bright apartments, which are located on a sloping plot slightly overlapping each other. The A-apartment is located on the lower side of the slope, while the B-apartment sinks into the slope as far as the basement is concerned.
Both apartments have three bedrooms located on the north side, a 5.5 m high dining and lounge area on the middle floor, as well as sauna and housekeeping facilities. The large windows of the tall living rooms, partially embedded in the clt frame, open to the southwest, allowing for good and bright views. Both apartments have a barrier-free entrance from the south, from the basement floor, where the housekeeping facilities and the sauna section of apartment B are located. In addition, there is a lot of storage space and a work space on the basement level, which can be used as a common space for the apartments. In addition to the common yard area, both apartments also have the right to manage their own yard areas. The main entrances are located on the north side on the middle floor, which offers wide views of the surrounding landscape. The views from the bedrooms on the upper floors are even more spacious.
The building material, with the exception of the stone-built basement, is cross-glued clt solid wood board, which enables healthy and clean indoor air in the apartments. The wood has largely been left as a visible surface material in the apartments, and the light acoustic treatment allows the characteristics of the wood to be seen in the walls, ceilings and interior stairs as well. Façade cladding and balustrade material for balconies are mainly light-painted wooden panels or trim.
In the interior, the black tone of the fixed furniture and stair railings, combined with the wooden surfaces treated with a muted light, create a contrasting but peaceful atmosphere in the premises.
